Hamas leader elections will not happen before March, and the terrorist group is to be led by "committee of five".

According to sources in Hamas, the election of a new leader of this group, the successor to Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by the IDF, will take place no earlier than March 2025, if conditions allow.

During this period, Hamas will be led by a special committee, which will include five members of the group's leadership. It was formed back in August, after the elimination of the previous head of the Hamas Politburo, Ismail Haniyeh.

The committee includes the head of the Hamas Politburo in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Haya, the head of the group abroad, Khalid Mashal, the head of the movement in the West Bank, Zahir Jabareen, the head of the Shura Council, Muhammad Darwish, and the secretary of the group's Politburo, Rawi Mushtaha.

On October 2, Israel announced the elimination of Mushtaha, but sources in Hamas told the publication that he was alive and continuing to carry out his duties.

Khalil al-Haya has been appointed responsible for international relations and negotiations with Israel. The movement's leadership rejected the proposal to appoint a new head of the Politburo, keeping his name a secret.

According to the publication, last week the group informed Egypt of its consent to the formation of an independent administration of the Gaza Strip, provided that the group's positions are taken into account when forming it. The Palestinian Authority leadership has not yet responded to this proposal.
